EXCLUSIVE: Behind-the-scenes on ‘High Fidelity’, the dreamy debut single from The Naked & Famous's Alisa Xayalith

Words by Keane Fletcher

I told you the new music was coming in thick and fast this week! Case in point, the announcement today that one half of NZ indie-electronic outfit The Naked And FamousAlisa Xayalith, has just dropped her very first solo single -- the lush and dreamy 'High Fidelity' -- as well as an accompanying music video. AND to cap it all off, Hipland has an EXCLUSIVE behind-the-scenes video that Alisa herself shot while her and her team were on set in Death Valley in the U.S! Check it out below!

Co-written with Sophie Hintze and Doug Schadt and produced by Schadt, Tyler Spry and NZ-born, US-based producer Simon Oscroft (formerly of Midnight Youth),‘High Fidelity’ is a taste of what’s to come from the now LA-based Alisa, as she steps into the spotlight as a solo artist. It is the first track from her upcoming EP, which she aptly describes as 'dreamy, moody and romantic, through a colouful vintage lens. I wanted to create a world I could escape in and reflect how I want to be seen.'

'This project has given me permission to explore and write love songs the way I’ve always wanted to. So I felt it was fitting to release ‘High Fidelity’ first,' says Alisa.

The video for ‘High Fidelity’ was shot on 16mm film in the small Californian town of Lone Pine, which is famously known for its history of filming western cowboy movies, making it the perfect vintage backdrop for the sepia-tinged single.

Check out the video below. And don't forget to go stream 'High Fidelity' on all good streaming platforms now!
