Claud is firmly on my list of ones to watch in 2021.  I've been a big fan of since "Wish You Were Gay" (Which, by the way is up to almost 4.5 MILLION streams on Youtube, i just checked, watched the vid and now i'm sad... Anyway.) it's been pleasing to see a nice steady rise in popularity.

‘Cuff Your Jeans’, released today is a total pop gem. The accompanying video is like a lo-fi Simpsons nightmare, very cool indeed.

“‘Cuff Your Jeans’ is a song about yearning. I wrote it after having a fever dream about trying to get on a train to see my friend but missing it over and over and over because there was always some obstacle in my way. The dream left me in a cold sweat and extremely frustrated. All elements of this song are a much needed form of rebellion against my redundant lifestyle, and my pitched down vocals in the verses - which appear in a few more places throughout Super Monster - are a way to further a more courageous and outspoken persona."

Standing at 5 feet tall with green and blue hair (hair color subject to change), 21-year old Claud Mintz is a prolific and industrious talent. The first signing to Phoebe Bridgers’ new label imprint with Dead Oceans, Claud has been stealthily releasing impressively agile pop songs for the last two years.

‘Cuff Your Jeans’ follows the first two singles, ‘Soft Spot’ and ‘Gold’, released at the tail end of 2020 to widespread acclaim.

Claud’s debut album Super Monster will be released on 12 February via Saddest Factory Records.
